If you’re not a young trans, non-binary, questioning or intersex person in Northern Ireland, you may find other groups more suitable. This page is a basic directory of other support groups you might find helpful.

Support groups for trans youth in the UK & Ireland

There are many support groups across the UK & Ireland which support trans youth specifically, including trans children, adolescents and young adults. The following groups are predominantly support and advocacy groups for trans youth:

  • Cara-Friend LGBT Youth NI
    GLYNI logo
    Previously called GLYNI, this is the youth arm of Cara-Friend, Northern Ireland’s oldest LGBTQ support organisation. GLYNI run regular social youth groups which are open to any LGBTQ people from 14 to 25 years old.

  • Irish Trans* Students’ Alliance
    ITSA is a peer-support group for students and young people (18-30) who are trans*, gender variant, intersex, questioning or exploring their gender identity, and partners of any of the above.

  • Gendered IntelligenceGendered Intelligence logo
    GI is an organisation based in England which supports trans young people through a variety of youth groups and services.
